Digital mucous cysts は、手に頻繁に見られるガングリオンの一種です。Ganglion は、関節や腱の近くにできる軟部組織腫瘍です。Digital mucous cyst は、特に遠位指節間関節（DIP 関節）の背面から発生します。これらの嚢胞は、基底にある DIP 関節の変形性関節症と併存することがよくあります。

A digital mucous cyst is a ganglion that arises from the dorsum of the distal interphalangeal joint (DIP joint). Digital mucous cysts commonly have an association with underlying DIP joint osteoarthritis.
