Senile purpura એ ચામડીની એવી સ્થિતિ છે જે મોટાં, 1 થી 5 સે.મી., ઘાટા જાંબલી‑લાલ ઇકાઇમોસિસ દ્વારા આગળના હાથ અને હાથેની ડોર્સા પર દેખાય છે. પર્યાપ્ત જખમ ત્વચાના જોડાયેલ પેશીઓમાં સૂર્ય‑પ્રેરિત નુક્સાનને કારણે થાય છે. કોઈ ખાસ સારવાર જરૂરી નથી. જખમ સામાન્ય રીતે 3 અઠવાડિયા સુધીના સમયગાળામાં ઝાંખા પડી જાય છે.
Solar purpura ("Senile purpura") is a skin condition characterized by large, sharply outlined, 1- to 5-cm, dark purplish-red ecchymoses appearing on the dorsa of the forearms and less often the hands. It is caused by sun-induced damage to the connective tissue of the skin.
આ સ્થિતિ વૃદ્ધ લોકોમાં ખૂબ જ સામાન્ય છે અને જો હાથ સખત પકડવામાં આવે તો તે સરળતાથી ઉઝરડા આવે છે. સ્ટીરોઈડ મલમ લગાવવું જોઈએ નહીં.
Actinic purpura ત્યારે થાય છે જ્યારે ત્વચાના ઊંડા સ્તરોમાં લોહી નિકળે છે. પાતળી ત્વચા અને નાજુક રુધિરવાહિનીઓ ધરાવતા વૃદ્ધ લોકોમાં તે વધુ વખત થાય છે, ખાસ કરીને જે લોકો સૂર્યના સંસર્ગમાં ઘણો સમય પસાર કરે છે. This phenomenon is due to the skin atrophy and fragility of the blood vessels in elderly individuals, which is exacerbated by chronic sun exposure.
